Dolly Parton's Imagination Library:
An effort began in 1996 by Dolly Parton to benefit the children in her home county in east Tennessee. She decided to mail a brand new, age appropriate book each month to every child under the age of five in Sevier County. This program was such a success that many other communities wanted to provide the same benefit for the children of their communities. Needless to say an undertaking such as this requires a champion. Our local champion is the Cocke County Education Foundation. To register their children, parents can either contact Ms. Betty Jones, 423-623-7821, at the School System's Central Office or email her at [email protected]. Parents can also go online and register their children at the following internet link. www.imaginationlibrary.com
